Job Summary/Basic Function
Meet directly with full-time and part-time employees to complete hiring documentation i.e. I-9, W-4, direct deposit, etc. Perform data entry to Banner and BDMS scanning for all hiring documentation for these employees. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures that support commitment to compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations concerning verification of employment authorization. Monitor, ensure data accuracy and provide assistance for automated on-boarding process used by campus hiring departments. Assist in the development and maintenance of training material and conduct monthly training for campus departments regarding the automated on-boarding process for student worker, temporary hourly, GA, RA and adjunct staff. Assist to monitor I 9 compliance for international faculty as required and perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Performs additional administrative responsibilities such as providing front desk lunch coverage and other backup as needed, serving as the Ex Officio member of the office fund committee, processing State of TN new hire reporting, coordinating records retention, maintaining the retiree database and season ticket program, and managing Covendis, the temporary employee hiring system.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required. Note: Two (2) years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
Required Related Experience
Entry level position; training will be provided.
Desirable Related Experience
Prior Human Resource employment experience that includes I-9 management and verification processing in a higher education environment preferred.
