Job Summary/Basic Function
The EC I position is designed as the entry level position for the MT One Stop and is phase 1 of a 3-tier progression plan. The EC I is assigned to the front desk of the MT One Stop to serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking assistance in initial enrollment, ongoing retention and provide general assistance with transactions related to any of the enrollment services areas. Essential tasks include: answer general questions and problem solve across all enrollment management areas that include: bursar, financial aid, academic processes & residency, scheduling, and records. The EC I must understand the interrelationships among these areas; be able to assess the student's initial inquiry; discern co-related issues and resolve; or seek the advice/transfer the student to an Enrollment Coordinator II for assistance and resolution. The incumbent will learn and maintain a general understanding of MTSU, Board of Trustees, Federal guidelines, academic policies and procedures, financial aid processing, and scheduling and is expected to perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required. Note: A high school diploma or HSE and four years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
Required Related Experience
Entry level position; training will be provided.
Desirable Related Experience
Prior experience in a student leadership position, paraprofessional experience (tutoring, mentoring, RA, SOA, etc.) or significant student employment in an advising, enrollment, orientation, or student affairs office preferred.
