Job Summary/Basic Function
University Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#712100) at the rank of Lecturer for dual enrollment in Mathematics. This appointment is for Fall 2023 only. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful candidate will teach sections of dual enrollment mathematics courses at Sumner County area high schools as needed to satisfy a full-time teaching workload every year. The incumbent will need to communicate regularly with the high school administration and department chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar.
Required Education
A Master's in Mathematics or a closely related field or a master's degree with at least 18 hours of graduate work in the mathematics discipline is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with a terminal degree in mathematics or a closely related field and those with experience teaching in a high school setting will receive special consideration.
