Job Summary/Basic Function
Provide management assistance, training, technical research and counseling to present and protective small business owners, Develop specialized programs for women business owners, minorities, veterans, international trade and rural economic development. Provide ongoing technical support to MTSU/SBDC and TBR lead center; serve as liaison with governmental agencies at the federal and state level and interface with higher education institutions and regional government department in middle Tennessee as assigned or appropriate. Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, or related field; eight or more years of direct operational management experience or financial operations/budgeting experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree.
Required Related Experience
- Two (2) years progressively responsible related work experience in public or private sector required.
Required License/Registration/Certification
- Valid drivers license
Desirable Related Experience
Experience using advanced research tools such as Data Axle, IBISWorld, Esri, and/or ProfitCents desirable. Knowledge and understanding of agricultural and economic development programs of the USDA and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development a plus.
