Job Summary/Basic Function
This Communications Specialist reports to the Vice President for University Advancement. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of the Division’s strategic communications plan. Work closely with staff within the University Advancement Division (Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Development Office, Government Relations, and Strategic Business Partners). Engage with MTSU constituencies, including alumni and friends, donors, and government officials, using multiple communication channels. Manage and administer the Division’s social media channels, email communications, printed communications, giving pages, and website. Track and measure the effectiveness of communications, compile analytics and metrics reports for leadership. Work in collaboration with external stakeholders, internal leadership, and team members and collaborate with the Division of Marketing and Communications. Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
Required Related Experience
Minimum three (3) years related professional experience.
Desirable Related Experience
Preference given to those with experience in higher education or in a corporate communications environment.
