Job Summary/Basic Function
The School of Agriculture at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#109360) at the rank of assistant/associate professor in Animal Science. The start date for the position is August 1, 2022. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of animal science/veterinary science curricula. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide array of undergraduate-level courses in the animal and veterinary sciences and participate in scholarly activities (i.e., research, grant writing, publications, presentations). Outreach activities, student mentoring, and university/professional service are also expected. Duties may also include supervision of undergraduate research projects and student organization advising. Effective teaching, organizational, and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to be a productive colleague and interact well with peers, students, constituent groups, and the community.

A PhD in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a closely related field or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) by appointment date
Candidates with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate education, applied research, and outreach will receive special consideration.
