Job Summary/Basic Function
The primary responsibility for this role is to install, repair, retrofit, and maintain all exterior lighting at MTSU using ladders, lifts or the bucket truck as needed. The Electrician Lead Worker will check all electrical work for code compliance, proper installation, and safety considerations. The Electrician Lead Worker will perform all phases of electrical work to include but not limited to measuring for conduit, bending pipes, and pulling wire, installing electrical circuits for renovated classrooms and offices at Middle Tennessee State University. Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Required Education
High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.
Required Related Experience
Three (3) years progressively responsible experience with a variety of electrical, mechanical, and other maintenance work required.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Tennessee drivers license required.
Desirable Related Experience
Five (5) years direct experience with increasingly responsible building and plant maintenance. Completed electrician training through a trade school or apprenticeship. Work to include knowledge of electrical codes (e.g. national electric code) related to installation or renovation systems in the various types of spaces found on higher education campuses preferred.
