Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Elementary and Special Education at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#116300) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year appointment with possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the position is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty in program implementation and continuous improvement. Primary responsibilities will include instruction in the Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education undergraduate program and supervision of pre-service teacher candidates.

Required Education

A master's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Required Related Experience

Three (3) years of successful public or private early childhood education or elementary teaching experience is required.

Other Desirables

Candidates who possess the following will receive special consideration:
- Successful university teaching experience.
- Successful experience mentoring pre-service teacher candidates.
- Demonstrated partnership efforts with early childhood programs or elementary schools.
- Expertise in developmentally appropriate practices.
