Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#144040) at the rank of Lecturer in Live Production. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful candidate is expected to teach a wide range of aspects of Live Production, including but not limited to preproduction, production, and post-production of multi-camera events such as sports, concerts, or other broadcast or live events; conceptual courses such as television history or other television genre classes, and motion graphics/broadcast graphics, audio/broadcast audio, camera/broadcast camera, video engineering, LED/XR technology. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience with current production tools, techniques, and technology.
Required Education
Without experience, a terminal degree, such as an MFA in Film and Video Production, Animation, or a closely related field, is required.
Required Related Experience
A Master’s degree in Film and Video Production, Animation, or a closely related field and three (3) years of professional experience or a Bachelor's degree in Film and Video Production or Animation, or a closely related field with five (5) years of professional experience will be considered.
