Job Summary/Basic Function
The College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful candidate will support the Assessment Learning and Student Success EdD Program, particularly its Higher Education Concentration and the College of Education. In addition, the successful candidate will teach graduate courses. Assignments may include teaching in off-campus, weekend, online, and cohort graduate programs. Responsibilities include teaching courses, chairing higher education dissertations, serving on dissertation committees, and designing online courses for the College of Education to be delivered in related programs. The successful candidate is also expected to maintain an active research agenda in higher education scholarship.
Required Education
Earned terminal degree in Higher Education or a closely related field
Required Related Experience
Three (3) years of higher education administrative experience
Other Desirables
Candidates who possess any of the following will receive special consideration:
- Expertise in higher education policy
- Academic and applied expertise in quantitative and/or mixed methods research design
- Experience in early childhood special education
- A record of teaching graduate level courses and/or practical experience in areas such as educational foundations, curriculum, instruction, assessment, administration, higher education topics courses, and student success
- Experience designing, teaching, and coordinating graduate-level online and face-to-face courses
- Experience with submission and awarding of external funding to support research
- Experience supporting dissertation candidates as either a chair or a committee member
