Job Summary/Basic Function

Provide secretarial and clerical assistance for the Office of the Faculty Senate and the President of the Faculty Senate, the representative body for over 1300 faculty members. Serve as secretarial resource for, and liaison between, the senate and the chairpersons of University Standing Committees. Coordinate yearly faculty recruitment for University Standing Committees. Maintain Faculty Senate documents for office and archive purposes. Maintain and update information on Faculty Senate web pages on MTSU website. Coordinate scheduling of Faculty Senate room meetings, conferences, and events. Coordinate faculty senate events, including annual senate retreat. Provide research assistance on issues and policies concerning the Faculty Senate. Respond to questions and/or issues in accordance with established university and/or Tennessee Board of Regents policies under the direct guidance of the senate president. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Required Related Experience

Three years clerical, secretarial, and/or office experience required.

Desirable Related Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

CPS/CAP preferred.
