Job Summary/Basic Function

The School of Music (Musicology) at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#131260) at the rank of assistant/associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2022. The position is contingent upon funding.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate evidence of successful teaching at the college/university level.
  • Have an active and visible research agenda.
  • Assist in recruiting graduate students in musicology.
  • Teaching opportunities may include undergraduate and graduate core courses in the History of Western Art Music, American Popular Music, 20th Century Music, World Music, and other areas as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Music.

Required Education

Terminal degree in Musicology or closely related field by appointment date.
