Job Description

The Assistant Director (AD) reports directly to the Director of the Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center (Daniels Center). The AD supervises the transition managers and oversees the daily operations of the Veterans Transitioning office. The AD works with the Director in the development of policy/procedures and delivery of comprehensive transition services to over 900 student veterans and military family members. The AD is also responsible for: establishing corporate employment partnerships, assisting in developing recruitment strategies, preparing/placing student veterans, alumni and eligible dependents in part-time, full-time or internship opportunities. The AD will identify and cultivate corporate philanthropic partnerships. The AD, in conjunction with the Director will identify and cultivate philanthropic partnerships and support the Daniels Center through events, activities, and special projects.
This position is funded through donations by Charlie Daniels’ foundation, The Journey Home Project. Continued employment is contingent on funding (via fundraising and sponsorship).

Required Educational Qualifications and Field of Study

Bachelors Degree required. Valid drivers license required.

Required Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Three years progressively responsible administrative level experience in higher education administration or the military required.

Preferred Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Prior experience working with talent management, career development, placement services, or leadership development preferred.
Prior experience in military leadership preferred.

Certificates/ Licenses Preferred


Salary Range $39,025 - $48,585; commensurate with experience
