Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of the June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing and administering the OVW grant. Provide programmatic coordination for the $300,000 grant funded by the Office of Violence against Women (OVW), U.S. Department of Justice, implemented by the Division of Student Affairs – June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students. The grant funds sexual violence prevention initiatives at MTSU. Administer a team for the coordinated community response (CCR) by working with Internal and External Memorandum of Understanding partners; serve to expand existing outreach and awareness programming on prevention of gender-based violence, including the following: enhancing bystander intervention training for students; improving existing training for MTSU police and other support services about how to respond effectively to occurrences of gender-based violence on campus; increasing effectiveness in reaching underserved populations, namely nontraditional students, transfer students, international students, students of color, and veteran students; and improving accessibility by insuring that newly developed education/outreach materials are ADA compliant. Serve as the direct contact for these programs as part of a grant-funded project focused on gender-based violence. The primary responsibilities are to provide coordination for all project activities, and to effectively work with grant partners and other grant multidisciplinary team members. This position will require travel to attend training institutes and will also require some evening/weekend hours. Note: this is a Grant position contingent on continued annual funding.

Required Educational Qualifications and Field of Study

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in counseling, student affairs administration, women’s studies, psychology, or related field preferred.

Required Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

One year experience in the field of gender-based violence prevention, education, (professional or volunteer basis) required.

Preferred Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Student affairs program experience on a university campus is also preferred.

Salary Range $31,965 - $39,370; commensurate with experience
