Job Description

Duties include accompanying undergraduate and graduate instrumental and vocal majors at the School of Music (SOM) for degree recitals, lessons, studio classes, Student Recital Hour performances, recital hearings, and juries. Accompany voice lessons and related courses for students enrolled in the Musical Theatre Performance Minor. Assist with courses such as Diction and Class Voice. Accompany students in vocal auditions. Assist with SOM large ensembles. Serve as accompanist for the TN Governor’s School for the Arts. Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Anticipated start date: August 1, 2018

Required Educational Qualifications and Field of Study

Bachelor of Music degree in collaborative piano, accompanying, or piano performance required.

Required Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Minimum of 3 years accompanying experience at the college/university level.

Preferred Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Master of Music degree in collaborative piano, accompanying, or piano performance required – with a minimum of two years of accompanying experience at the college/university level or DMA or ABD in collaborative piano, accompanying, or piano performance.

Salary Range $31,965 - $39,370; commensurate with experience
