Job Description

MTSU’s Department of Recording Industry is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position (Pos. #145010) at the rank of assistant/associate professor. Start date for this position is August 1, 2018.

Successful candidate will teach courses in music business, including: Digital Strategies, Branding, Survey of the Recording Industry, History of the Recording Industry, Artist Management, Concert Promotion & Touring, Record Label Operations, Marketing and/or Copyright Law.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to accomplish group goals is a necessity. Documented excellence in teaching, research/creative activity and service is expected for all positions.

Required Education

Terminal degree in Recording Industry or closely related field by appointment date.

A master’s degree in Recording Industry or closely related field by appointment date with 5 years directly related industry experience may stand in lieu of the terminal degree.

Additional Information

If selected for an on-campus interview, applicants should then request official transcripts (not issued to student) of all college degrees be sent directly to the academic department prior to the interview. In order to complete an employment agreement, official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be provided.
