Job Description

Serve as a direct report to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Transfer Recruitment. Responsible for leading the recruitment activities and coordinating the articulation of transfer students to MTSU; serve as official representative at college fairs, two year college visits and related recruitment activities. Extensive travel required to two year college visits and recruitment events that will include evening and periodic weekend programs. Provide information concerning MTSU to prospective students and their families as well as presentations to group and individual information sessions for campus visitors. Encourage, promote and maintain favorable relations with community college representatives; direct communication with students and community college representatives by telephone, email and in person. Recommend new strategies to recruit transfer students; meet enrollment goals; use Alumni in recruitment efforts; assist with assigned marketing activities; provide baseline information on financial aid, scholarships, and related enrollment needs. Evaluate student credentials to determine admissibility per standards; assist with orientation for transfer students, provide back up coverage for main desk as required and perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Required Educational Qualifications and Field of Study

Bachelor’s degree required.
Valid drivers license required.

Required Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Two (2) years that may include graduate student work and progressively responsible experience in student services, recruitment, sales or marketing related activities.

Preferred Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Master’s degree preferred.
Three years experience in higher education in an admissions or student services setting preferred that may include graduate student work.
Proficiency with Banner and Hobson’s Connect preferred.

Certificates/ Licenses Preferred
Salary Range $35,255 - $43,659; commensurate with experience
