Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager – Distance Education Faculty Services, the Coordinator of Online Program Quality will be dedicated to improve student-learning outcomes/retention by assisting with the development and instruction of high-quality distance courses. Support MTSU faculty by developing, maintaining and instructing the Instructor and Development online courses to certify faculty who wish to develop and teach online courses and become certified to serve as Online Faculty Mentors (OFMs). Develop and facilitate an OFM training program to enhance and improve mentoring skills, including the development and instruction of an OFM online class. Assist to develop, implement and facilitate the three-year online course redesign process; survey course developers and OFMs as assigned, and maintain the OFM database and OFM and Faculty Services websites. Assist faculty to enhance their online courses by scheduling and instructing them on the creation and editing of videos using MTSU’s Lightboard; maintain Lightboard equipment and perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Required Educational Qualifications and Field of Study

Master’s in Education with preferred concentrations in Industrial Technology, Curriculum and Design, Ed Leadership or a Master’s degree in Business with preferred concentrations in Training and Development.
A valid Tennessee Driver’s license is required.

Note: A bachelor’s degree in Education or Business as defined above and four years progressively responsible experience in online course development in higher education may be considered in lieu of the Master’s degree.

Required Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

One year progressively responsible related experience in online course development and instruction in higher education.

Preferred Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

- Strong knowledge of administration of peer mentoring and other quality initiatives associated with online programs preferred.
- Prior experience with higher education faculty mentoring programs preferred.

Certificates/ Licenses Preferred
Salary Range $35,255 - $43,659; commensurate with experience
