Job Description

Reporting to the AVP of Campus Planning, responsible for facility planning, program development, design and construction of multiple, assigned capital projects, including new construction, renovations, and campus infrastructure. Serve as owner representative and team leader in full range of facility design and construction owner responsibilities. Other tasks include: develop and maintain design and construction schedules, project cost estimates, construction administration tasks, evaluate building conditions and update campus facility data, develop submittal documents for AVP review and provide to State Building Commission review and approval, develop project request and justification documents for annual Capital Budget, and assist with development and procurement of equipment. Perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Required Educational Qualifications and Field of Study

Professional architectural degree (five year undergraduate program or Master’s Degree) required; or equivalent degree in related field.
Preference will be given to applicants with the Professional Architectural degree.
Note: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight years directly related experience as defined below may be considered in lieu of the professional architectural degree.

Required Year(s) and Type of Work Experience

Seven years progressively responsible successful full time work experience as project manager in design/construction field. Direct supervision of architectural design and construction projects as Project Manager in architectural firm, and/or developer/building owner.

Preferred Year(s) and Type of Work Experience Required

Ten years progressive responsibility as project architect, designer or project manager preferred.
Direct experience with State of Tennessee Higher Education capital projects preferred.
Prior experience with BIM a plus.

Certificates/ Licenses Preferred

Professional Architect’s or Engineer’s Registration preferred.

Salary Range $60,694 - $77,182; commensurate with experience
