Emergency Operations Manager Murfreesboro, Tennessee
This position, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President of University Police/Chief of Police will be responsible for directing overall functions related to Emergency Management and Emergency Preparedness for MTSU. This position directs, controls and manages planning, training and program related to Homeland Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Emergency Management. This position also coordinates the response to non-law enforcement emergencies and provides assistance and coordinates resources during all emergencies occurring on the campus of MTSU or university owned and controlled properties. This position will serve as a liaison with local state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with emergency preparedness best practices. As a member of the safety team for the university, the position will be responsible for training and educating different elements of the university of the requirements of the Emergency Response Plan and their role within the plan. This position will assist in establishing and following Incident Command protocols using the National Incident Management System during emergencies on campus. This position will serve as an advocate for the university in the areas of Homeland Security, Emergency Management and Emergency Preparedness and should develop a close working relationship with state and local Emergency Managers and Emergency Management agencies.

The Associate Vice Provost for International Affairs (AVP) reports to the Vice Provost (VP) for International Affairs. The AVP collaborates with central University units connected to International Affairs, including Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Registrar, Bursar, the Student Disability and Access Center, the Office of the University Counsel, etc. They lead initiatives that foster outside support, including grant writing and entrepreneurial activities. The AVP supervises critical staff in International Affairs while working with faculty, administrators, staff, and students across the University to promote and implement our strategic plan. The AVP provides oversight and implementation of unit and campus policies and procedures. They support the harmonization of key policies and best practices across units within the division. As the deputy to the VP, the AVP may support any of the wide-ranging functions of the Office.

The position is also responsible for providing periodic presentations to the University Board of Trustees on compliance related activities and performing other tasks and special projects as assigned.
