Job Summary/Basic Function

The School of Music at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (131260) at the rank of Lecturer. This is a one year temporary appointment. Start date for the appointment is August 1, 2021. Position contingent upon funding.

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate core courses in western music history.
  • Other teaching opportunities may include: American Popular Music, World Music, Introduction to Music, and other areas as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Music.

Required Education

Master's degree in musicology or closely related field

Other Desirables

Applicants who possess a Doctorate in Musicology or are ABD will receive special consideration. Also, those who can show evidence of successful teaching at the college/university level will receive special consideration.
