Job Summary/Basic Function

Duties include the following: Play for undergraduate and graduate instrumental and vocal majors for degree recitals, lessons, studio classes, Student Recital Hour performances, recital hearings, and juries. Play for voice lessons and related courses for students enrolled in the Musical Theatre Performance Minor. Assist with courses such as Diction and Class Voice. Assist with School of Music large ensembles. Serve as collaborative pianist for the TN Governor's School for the Arts. Coordinate collaborative pianist assignments for music majors enrolled in degree recitals and upper division juries. Collaborate with faculty artists.

Required Education

Bachelors degree in Music in collaborative piano, piano performance, or related field.

Required Related Experience

Minimum of three (3) years experience as a collaborative pianist.

Desirable Related Experience

Master of Music degree in collaborative piano, piano performance, or related field. Ability to read figured bass, improvise, and transpose. Experience as a collaborative pianist at the college/university level.
