Job Summary/Basic Function

Manage the daily activities, programs and personnel of the federally funded and supported external programs and projects of the Center for Historic Preservation with the National Park Service. The manager works under the direction of the CHP director; supervises 2 administrative staff and graduate research assistants assigned to the federal programs and projects; prepares required technical writing reports, budgets, and documentation on external funded projects and programs for the National Park Service and any required state agencies; provides leadership for public meetings, board meetings, workshops and represents the department with property owners and agency officials; and provides guidance and assess staff performance in regards to National Park Service funded projects. This position is contingent on annual appropriations from the federal government.

Required Education

Master's degree in administration, historic preservation, or public history.
Masters degree candidates with four years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of the Master's degree requirement.

Required Related Experience

Five years experience in preparing surveys, historical assessment reports, and National Register nominations for federally funded projects of the National Park Service; experience with the National Historic Trails program of the National Park Service; experience of collaborating on projects and programs with federally recognized Native American tribes; human resources administration, workshop/conference planning, historic preservation and heritage organization administration.
