$38,733 - $47,643; commensurate with experience

Job Summary/Basic Function

Initiate, compile and submit academic scheduling for School of Music classes; monitor and maintain budgeting for all School of Music Accounts; provide assistance to faculty and other areas within School of Music as needed; assist with special productions such as workshops, festivals, and clinics; assist students with general questions, DPs, Drop/Add forms, and other forms related to music; schedule appointments for the Director, answer telephone, take messages, and assist callers; process hiring paperwork for faculty, student workers, and Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs), apply endowment/scholarship awards to student accounts; report faculty workloads; complete HEADS data survey for NASM; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Related Experience

Four years of progressively responsible secretarial/clerical experience required.
Note: A Bachelor’s degree and one year of previous related experience; or an Associate’s degree (two years of college coursework) and two years of related experience in lieu of work experience.

Desirable Related Experience

Prior experience in an academic department preferred.

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

Certified Professional Secretary

Other Desirables

Prior experience in an MTSU office setting preferred.
