Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Art and Design at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#122040) in Foundations at the rank of assistant/associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty and a department with National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) accreditation. As a Foundations program faculty team member responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and teaching undergraduate courses in Drawing 1, Drawing 2, and 2D Design. In addition to maintaining an active research and exhibition practice, participation is required in departmental service such as recruitment and retention outreach, curriculum development, student advising, and grant writing. Enthusiasm for planning and participation in Foundations area student programming activities is expected.
Required Education
A terminal degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Drawing, Painting, other 2D practices, or a closely related field is required.
Other Desirables
Applicants with two (2) years of full-time teaching experience will receive special consideration.
