Job Summary/Basic Function
Work with limited supervision and perform tasks such as: install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain access control systems, electronic key systems, locking devices and associated hardware and components for all university facilities. Maintain records of all electronic card access readers. Perform other related duties or projects as assigned.
Required Education
High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) with progressively responsible training as an electronics technician required.
Required Related Experience
Three (3) years of technical experience repairing, performing maintenance, installing, modifying, calibrating, certifying or fabricating mechanical and electronic security equipment and IP Camera system equipment required. Thirty (30) hours of course work related to the work assignment maybe substituted for two (2) years of the required experience stated above.
Desirable Related Experience
Associates degree or successful completion of the equivalent of 60 hours of training at an accredited college or university preferred.
