Job Summary/Basic Function

The School of Concrete and Construction Management at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#126450) at the rank of assistant/associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2022. The position is contingent upon funding.

The candidate chosen will be expected to engage in innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary teaching, research, and/or scholarly outreach and service activities. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate, graduate, and/or online courses in Concrete Industry Management and Construction Management including emerging and/or interdisciplinary topics; develop and maintain an active program of sponsored scholarly research in accordance with the school and university mission; participate in department, college, and university service activities in support of the school, college, and university mission. Additional responsibilities for this position include mentoring student organizations, clubs, and competition teams; participating in student recruitment events; and developing industry partnerships and outreach programs.

Required Education

Terminal degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. ABD will be considered if close to completion. A doctoral degree must be earned no later than August 1, 2023, for renewal of the contract.

Required Related Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of professional employment in the industry is required.
