Job Summary/Basic Function
Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs, manage a comprehensive program of fitness activities, instruction, and education. Responsibilities include the development, administration, fiscal accountability, marketing and daily programming of fitness classes, personal training program, and wellness programs; supervisory leadership is provided to approximately 10 part time (PT) student workers, 10 PT aerobic instructors, one PT program coordinator, and one PT intern. Budgetary oversight of $80,000+ ,which includes responsibility for capital purchases, travel, and student payroll. In addition, this position supervises asset management for $75,000+ of equipment inventory necessary for program effectiveness.
Master's degree in exercise science or a related field required.
Required Related Experience
Two years of professional experience required.
ACSM, IDEA, ACE, NASM or a national accredited fitness certification in personal training or group exercise instruction. CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
Desirable Related Experience
Three years full time experience in a University Campus Recreation Fitness Program preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Other certifications in TRX, Yoga, and Indoor Cycling preferred. CPR/First Aid/AED instructor preferred.
